Do I have to have any coding experience before I sign up? Nope! Our classes are beginner friendly. If you'd like to take a class on a more advanced topic, just take a beginners class first.
What will I learn? Topics include how to get simple app up and running quickly, TDD (Test Driven Development), design patterns, and clean code.
What is the cost? We offer both free and paid sessions. Free classes are supported by sponsors and patrons. Paid classes typically range between $50 - $100 USD depending on size, material, and structure.
What if I can't afford a class at this time? We also have study groups, which are free! Right now we are learning React.JS.
Do the SheNomads coding classing have an age requirement? Nope! We keep all of the examples inclusive and friendly.
How is the material taught? Each class is remote and online. The most used platforms are Skype, Slack, and Google Hangouts. Some classes also have worksheets, cheat sheets, and e-books. It just depends on how the instructor wants to teach.
What support is available to help me learn the material after the class ends? Yes! We have a Slack group. You can ask questions in #learn_to_code and #brunch_and_learn.
Can I attend classes remotely? Yes! All classes are remote.
What is the time commitment? Each class is between 2 - 3 hours.
Who are the instructors/guides? Regular instructors can be found on our Team page. Community members who are guest instructors can be contacted directly on Slack.
